Today the forms came off on the foundation, revealing several gaps. Now the patching begins.

Today work started on the foundation. Inspection revealed that the original foundation was toast and needed to be replaced—you could crumble it in your hands. The seller agreed to pay for it so we went forward knowing we’d get a new bolted foundation (and probably a lot of cracks as the house settled.) I had no idea what we were getting into.
